Side Effects of Viagra
Viagra
is a drug that is used extensively by men experiencing sexual problems due to
impotency. Viagra is basically the market name for the drug sildenafil, which is considered very effective in bringing on an erection to a man. However, just as good as it may seem, there are several side effects of using the drug - Viagra.
One of the most common side effects of Viagra is the feelings of dizziness and nausea. There are also some people who develop a pain, numbness or some tingling sensation in the chest, neck, arms and jaw when having sex. In such cases, it is important to stop sex and to call the physician immediately as this can be a grave side effect of using Viagra.
Another major side effect Viagra brings is sudden vision loss. So to overcome this side effect it is important to stop using the drug and seek immediate medical help in such cases. There are some people who develop allergic reactions like hives, swelling of the face, throat, lips and tongue and have difficulty in breathing. It is important to seek emergency medical help in such cases.
If you experience irregular heartbeat, sweating, shortness of breath, feelings of light headedness and some form of swelling in the feet, ankles and hands then Viagra has to be stopped immediately and the physician need to be called. Some men experience penis erections that last for four hours or longer, this is a very painful situation, and if you experience any such problem discontinue the use of Viagra immediately.
There are some mild side effects with regular use of Viagra like upset stomach, stuffy noses, back pain or warmth in the face, chest and neck. There is no need of any panic here as you can continue taking Viagra here; however, it is better to consult with the doctor just to reconfirm. Besides these side effects, you may also experience some other side effects that have to be consulted with the doctor if the side effects are unusual or bothersome.
You can also experience some side effects or complaints if you take Viagra while on specific drugs. It is not advisable to use Viagra if you have medication for
chest pain, antibiotics, medicines for HIV, antifungal medications, Phenobarbital, and many other drugs.
This is because the chemicals of this medication may react with
sildenafil to cause some side effects. In such cases, you may either not be able to use
Viagra or have your dosages changed or have some tests conducted.
